Welcome back to GoTravelDog.com! Where you may search and book pet-friendly hotels across North America. It’s a privilege to share my passion for travel and my love of dogs with you. I would like to dedicate this site to my beautiful mom (pictured as a young child with her dog and cat). She passed away last fall after a valiant fight with cancer, surrounded by her family and her beloved dogs; who never left her side.

Some of my most memorable trips have been with "just a dog." In fact, I could not imagine traveling without one of my pets. As the founder of Go Travel Dog, I'm always seeking to find little known pet-friendly hotels and dog-friendly towns during my trips with pets. And I am proud and excited to share them with you.

Often times, when traveling with pets by vehicle, the easiest part of the planning process is deciding where to go. But, if the drive to your final destination is more than a day trip, where should you stop along the way? How do you know which exit to choose to insure that you find a pet friendly hotel? Will there be grass or a suitable area to walk your dog(s)? Is the area safe? Will the hotel grounds be well lit if you arrive after dark?

On our way to Columbus from Bay Village (the west side of Cleveland), we stopped off to visit a friend at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio which is about 45 minutes north of Columbus. If you are traveling through Ohio, it is definitely well worth the detour off of I-71 to visit this beautiful pet friendly town and dog friendly college campus.
